Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley’s Haunting Alongside Our Shadows will be on display at QUAD from September 2021.

Danielle’s work is based in historical happening’s, creating video-game inspired artworks that form part of her Black Trans archive to, as the artist states, “record the lives of Black Trans People in the present to imagine our existence in the past through immersive storytelling.”

There is so much going on from 10th to 26th September that we've had to split the information across a few newsletters just so we can cover every type of entertainment that's coming to town this year. This newsletter is devoted to the big events, but we'll be covering (or trying to) everything as we go so you don't miss out on a thing!

New Mills Festival Weekender

On behalf of Artcore Gallery, the team would like to invite you to the launch of Error & Power, an exhibition featuring the work of artists in residence Naho Matsuda (@naho.matsuda) and Neale Willis (@nealewillis).

Naho and Neale began their residency with Artcore in May 2020. For Error & Power, both artists explore the strategy of creating space for chance, and the potential for mistakes and errors to shape their work, whether by design or accident.
