We know from our members that the people delivering culture and creativity for health and wellbeing need more help to do their work in a healthy and sustainable way.

Nicola Naismith's research 2019 report Artists Practising Well reflected a wider need across museums, heritage and freelance practice for logistical and emotional support. This has been backed up by our own sector surveys in 2020 and 2021.

FORMAT News: Historic England - Leicester Artist in Residence

FORMAT is delighted to announce the appointment of Khatun as the Historic England's artist in residence in Leicester.

The residency is for Picturing England’s High Streets, a three-year project as part of the national cultural programme for Historic England’s High Street Heritage Action Zones.

Khatun will work with local people to reimagine the high street, creating a contemporary portrait of Leicester and producing images which will become part of the Historic England Archive.

Chesterfield’s 1940s Market returns during half term with lots of entertainers for the whole family to enjoy.

Taking place on Thursday 28 October between 10am and 4pm, visitors can enjoy 40s music, entertainment, exhibits and meet the stall holders in period dress.
