Calling All Designer-Makers from the East Midlands Region!

The Hub cordially invite you to propose work for sale in their Christmas selling show, Crafted: East Midlands, the first to be taking place in their brand-new Ground Floor Gallery at their beautifully refurbished building.

The show will be running at the Hub from 4th December 2021 to 9th January 2022; a peak time of year for sales. You must be based within the East-Midlands to apply.

Deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 13th August.

The Certificate: The Practice of Music Making is a one-year distance-learning programme developed by Trinity Laban in partnership with the Open University. It offers adults with a passion for music the opportunity to develop their practical music making and performance skills.

Summer Programme Supports Vulnerable Children and Families

Specialist charity Safe and Sound has secured funding from the government’s expanded Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF) to run a four-week programme for young people and families whose lives have been affected by child exploitation.

Thanks to HAF funding administered locally by Community Action, around 40 young people and ten families will join a wide range of activities such as dance, boxing, table tennis, family cooking and youth club activities over the summer holidays.

Derby company helps charity bridge the IT gap

A Derby company has donated brand new laptops to a charity which is dedicated to improving the mental health of children, parents and teachers.
 
L.E.A.D. IT Services, which is based in Victoria Street, Derby, answered the plea for help from Bridge the Gap Child Mental Health, which supports children with their emotions and how to deal with them.

Artcore Exhibition Launch - Present Tense Future Perfect?

You are invited to the launch of Present Tense Future Perfect? An exhibition featuring the work of two of our brilliant artists in residence: Thomas Wynne and Kelly O'Brien.

In October 2020, Kelly O'Brien and Thomas Wynne undertook an artist residency with Artcore for a duration of two months titled Present Tense Future Perfect? Through this residency, we wanted to give the artists an opportunity to make new work dealing with the tensions caused by current uncertainties, whilst looking forward to a brighter future.

Cycle Donations Helps Rocco Spread Bridges of Hope Messages Further Afield

Two Derby businesses have teamed up to donate a top of the range road bike to help local mental health campaigner Rocco Hawkins take his Bridges of Hope messages further afield.

Rocco Hawkins (37) from Spondon caught the attention of many people in city last April as he walked to bridges to leave handwritten notes of support for those struggling with mental health.
