FORMAT International Photography Festival are receiving open call submissions from countries across all the world's continents. The FORMAT team are really excited to see such an international response and diverse interpretations of the festival theme FOREVER//NOW.

Graduating Students Become Part of the Furniture at Déda

Students who have graduated from the University of Derby BA Hons Dance degree – based at regional dance house Déda in Derby’s Cathedral Quarter - have been honoured with a seat plaque at the venue’s theatre.

The Dance degree was launched by the University and Déda in September 2014 and is the only one in the country to be based at a dance house with access to work experience at this and other arts partners’ venues.

The Derby Conference Centre welcomes new Wedding & Events Coordinator to help arrange the perfect day

By popular demand, The Derby Conference Centre is once again offering weddings as part of their event services. In order to keep pace with this demand, the Centre has announced the arrival of a new Wedding & Events Coordinator, Jessica Wood.

Jessica will be heavily involved in generating enquiries and planning weddings at The Derby Conference Centre, meeting with prospective couples to ensure their service meets and exceeds their expectations. Jessica expressed:

Higher Achievements at Derby College

Derby College is celebrating an increase in the A-level pass rate and in the number of students achieving higher grades A* to B.

A record 32% of A level students at the college's Joseph Wright sixth form centre gained the higher grades and the overall pass rate was just over 97% - up 1% on last year. Points per entry has also increased to 29.5 compared with 27.5 last year.

Of the 23 subjects taken, 15 report 100% pass rate including sociology, chemistry, law, English language, film studies and media.

Mumpers Autumn Barn Dance

Mumpers Ceilidhs present live music by The Jam and Crumpet Band with caller Jake Wood. Experienced dancers and newcomers are all welcome to join us for this evening of music and dancing.

7.30 - 11.00. Tickets £10 on the door, £8 for students and tickets booked before 8th October. Multibuy 6 for 5 @ £8 in advance. Accompanied children free.
