Launch of Invest in Derbyshire

An exciting next step in the development of the Invest in Derbyshire service, delivered by Marketing Derby on behalf of Derbyshire County Council and Derbyshire Economic Partnership, was taken last week as a new brand, website and film were launched.

Investors, businesses and key partners attended a launch event in support of the county’s ambition to be a destination of choice for investors and businesses.

The fifth Derby Book Festival is open!

The fifth Derby Book Festival is officially open, running from today until Saturday 8th June.

Highlights of this year’s Festival include broadcaster and author, Melvyn Bragg, comedian Susan Calman, politician and Tory leadership hopeful, Rory Stewart MP, Victoria Hislop, Stephen Booth, John Harvey, children’s author, Cressida Cowell (How to Train Your Dragon), historian Alison Weir, Simon Jenkins, Dolly Alderton and Paul Mason.

Festival starts with showstoppers

Buxton International Festival raises the curtain on its 2019 programme with a gala concert of opera’s greatest hits.

Artistic Director Adrian Kelly has lined up showstoppers to start the two weeks of music, song and book talks with some of the world’s favourite numbers from Bizet’s Carmen, Strauss’ Die Fledermaus and Mozart’s The Magic Flute to name but three.

Croots Farm Shop takes part in Open Farm Sunday on 9th June

Derbyshire farm shop Croots will be opening the gates to the farm on Sunday 9th June as part of a nationwide event to showcase British farming.

LEAF Open Farm Sunday is the farming industry’s national open day, with hundreds of farms throwing open their gates to give the public the chance to find out more about where their food comes from.

Among them is Farnah House Farm, Wirksworth Road near Duffield - the home of the award-winning Croots Farm Shop.
