Local Buxton REC Youth Theatre Company are taking THREE shows to the Buxton Festival Fringe

This year REC Youth Theatre will be returning to the Buxton Fringe Festival with three exciting shows!

 

‘SMALL FRY’ by Neil Duffield

Performed by our Young REC-ers (performers are 6-10 years of age)

Imagine a time and place where rules are simple and few: take what you want, trust no-one and all that matters is money. In this time and place of predators, scavengers and dragons, can the Small Frys beat the bullies and change the rules?

Construction Competition Success

Derby College Group (DCG) apprentice Jack Ellis (pictured left) has clinched a silver medal in the national finals of the Guild of Bricklayers skills competition held in Liverpool.

Jack Ellis (18) from Brailsford, who works for Neil Building and Joinery Services, qualified for the prestigious competition after winning the regional senior competition held recently at Grantham College.

DCG Chosen as SEND Centre for Excellence

Derby College Group (DCG) has been chosen as one of three Centres for Excellence in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) under a new national programme.

DCG will work alongside The Education and Training Foundation (ETF), City College Norwich and Weston College on the Department for Education (DfE) funded programme.

A new show about women in music.

A tale of growing up, finding a voice, and listening to Joni Mitchell records.

Heading to Buxton Fringe this summer.

GO WILD AND FREE AT THE ADVENTURE FEST

Adventure seekers can experience the great outdoors at the annual Adventure Fest held at Pleasley Vale Outdoor Activity Centre – and it’s all free!

Mountain biking, climbing, laser quest, KMXing, kayaking, canoeing, orienteering and a whole host of countryside activities will be on offer as Bolsover District Council stage their annual Adventure Fest on Sunday 14 July 2019.

The Council’s Extreme Wheels Roadshow will also be there hosting activities such as BMX biking, skateboarding, BMX sidehacks and slacklining.

Peak District Artisans’ Art & Design Fair

Buxton’s Great Dome Art and Design Fair is returning to the Devonshire Dome this summer, with a new visitor engagement opportunity.

Peak District Artisans’ (PDA) annual event showcases a wide range of affordable, original art by local artists, providing insight into the region’s creative talent.
