The countdown to Christmas has well and truly started, but if picking the perfect gift for a loved-one is giving you a headache, Derby LIVE and Derby Active have put together a fabulous list to give them an experience to remember.
Experience Black and White Film Photography 2 day course using 35mm film cameras to take photographs in the Peak District, then into the darkroom to process the films, make contact prints and finally make large prints for your wall, £600. Choose dates for up to 2 people. All materials and camera loan included (I have 2 Nikon FM cameras for you to use).
Private darkroom workshops are for 1 or 2 people. The cost is £300 per day, so if you come with a friend or partner that's £150 each. The price includes all materials and a buffet lunch.
We run private landscape photography courses for a maximum of 2 consecutive days at £300 per day. You can either come alone for the best personal tuition or share the course with your friends and family to reduce the cost.
Derby LIVE and Little Wolf Entertainment invite Derby audiences to enjoy a brand new spin on a much-loved yarn for Christmas 2020 with a spellbinding new pantomime at Derby Arena. Tickets for Sleeping Beauty go on sale on Friday 6 December 2019.
Buxton Festival Fringe (July 1-19 2020) celebrated being open for entries at a lively Christmas a party on December 7th. The event featured traditional Derbyshire Village Carols and was held at The Green Man Gallery where Kaleidoscope Choir leader Carol Bowns organised a successsful afternoon rehearsal followed by group singing at the party in the evening.
The traditional Christmas pantomime has something to offer the whole family. Accessible performances of Peter Pan at Derby Arena aim to make the magic and mayhem enjoyable for everyone.
Derby LIVE is pleased to offer a range of relaxed, British Sign Language (BSL) interpreted, captioned and audio described performances of the city’s biggest and brightest panto.
Residents can sign up to learn something new in the new year as applications open for our new term of adult education courses next week (Monday 9 December 2019).
