New Play Celebrates Life of Bess of Hardwick

Derby LIVE is pleased to announce that Bess, a new play by Kevin Fegan, will be performed at Derby’s Guildhall Theatre from Thursday 28 September to Sunday 1 October. The play was commissioned by First Art and in association with Derby LIVE.

Telling the story of the life and times of Bess of Hardwick, surprisingly, this is the first drama to capture this extraordinary woman and her extraordinary times. Bess takes centre stage in this one-woman show mixing theatre with film.

This year’s Hannells Darley Park Concert 2017, organised by Derby City Council’s entertainment arm, Derby LIVE, with orchestra Sinfonia Viva and media sponsor Classic FM, was a resounding success. The event was supported by Hannells Estates Agents, Flint Bishop Solicitors, HUUB, Mortgage Advice Bureau, PKF Cooper Parry, Specsavers and Stratstone BMW Derby.
