Tideswell Community Players - performing for 90 years

We thought you'd like to know that on 25th and 26th February in 1930 Tideswell Community Players first trod the boards with the comedy drama and West End hit, Ambrose Applejohn's Adventure, by Walter Hackett.

Starring writer, radio dramatist and Great Hucklow theatre owner, L Du Garde Peach in the title role (centre rear in picture) and with many Tideswell people in the cast, it was a two night success at The Oddfellows Hall.

Celebrating with poetry for LGBT+ History Month

'Calendar of the Sussex Wild' - part of the 'Love Letters' exhibition...

On Saturday 8 February we open our new exhibition 'Love Letters'. The show has been curated by the Wirksworth artist Bernie Rutter and we're looking forward to showing work by artists new to the gallery. One of these artists is Brighton based Jo Sweeting, who is a sculptor and printmaker. We will be exhibiting Jo's large woodblock prints called 'Calendar of the Sussex Wild' as well as some of her smaller sculptural work.
