Cancellation of Indietracks 2020

We’re very sad to announce that we have decided to cancel this year’s Indietracks festival due to the coronavirus outbreak.

We are so grateful to everyone who booked tickets, and to all the amazing artists, volunteers, staff and stage crew, and everyone else who has worked on putting the festival together this year. Thank you so much for your support and we’re sorry that we’re unable to go ahead this year. While it is a hard decision to take, the current circumstances have meant that it was the only option to ensure that we could keep everybody safe.

We will be starting to discuss Indietracks 2021 in the coming months, and look forward to announcing our plans as soon as we can.

In the meantime, if you bought tickets for this year’s festival, our ticket supplier, Gigantic will be arranging full refunds for the face value of any tickets you have bought. These refunds should be made to you within 14 days.

It is a difficult time for Midland Railway-Butterley which, as a charity, relies on the income it would normally be generating during the current period of enforced closure. Therefore, we would be incredibly grateful if anybody felt able to make a donation to the Midland Railway Trust (charity no. 502278). We understand that many people are not in a position to donate at this difficult time and do ask you to put yourself first.

We realise that many ticket holders may have spent money on travel and accommodation and we hope you will be able to get refunds on those as far as possible. We’re also aware that a number of artists are losing income from playing shows and festivals at the moment. We are planning some ideas to help raise money for some of these artists and the Midland Railway Trust over the coming months, and in the meantime, please consider buying music from artists on this year’s line up where you can. We had an incredible line-up and they have some amazing music to pick up via Bandcamp and elsewhere. We also have our Indietracks compilations (2012-2019) available on Bandcamp, with all proceeds going to the Midland Railway Trust, so please consider picking up those too if you haven’t already – thank you!

We hope to be able to announce some virtual shows soon with new and old Indietracks favourites and we’ll be in touch as soon as we have details. We’re also putting together some very special Indietracks merchandise to help the railway with fundraising and will share details shortly!

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the outbreak, and we hope you are all keeping safe and well.
