Call out for Volunteers For Matinee Dementia Friendly Cinema

We are very excited to be starting this four-year project, and will be recruiting a Derbyshire-wide team of volunteers to work alongside us at film screenings and events, and/or to help us with advocacy and publicity.

Event volunteers will provide support to the Project Co-ordinator to enable people affected by dementia and memory challenges to engage with the film and activities, and to help in creating a sociable, welcoming and non-judgmental environment.  If you would like to know more about this role - please click on the link to open the PDF: Matinee Volunteer Job Description - Event Support, Derbyshire

Publicity/ advocacy volunteers will provide support by helping with distributing publicity, giving presentations and talks about the scheme to groups across Derbyshire etc.  There will be opportunities to work just in your local area, and also opportunities for people to work further afield if they would like to. If you would like to know more about this role - please click on the link to open the PDF: Matinee Volunteer Job Description - Publicity Support, Derbyshire.

All volunteers will also receive one-to-one and/or group based support.

This is a great opportunity to help people feel less isolated; to use your existing skills and experience, or learn new skills; and to meet new people. You will also be signposted to further training/ development opportunities such as the national Matinée conferences in 2018 and 2020.

If you'd like to know more - please get in touch with Frances Watt, the Matinée Project Co-ordinator at admin@matineederbyshire.org.uk
