Buxton Military Tattoo 2018

Saturday 7th July 2018

Inside the magnificent Devonshire Dome, Buxton

Performances at 2.00 pm and 7.00 pm

Once again Buxton’s iconic Devonshire Dome hosts the Buxton Military Tattoo on Saturday 7th July 2018 with two indoor performances at 2 pm and 7pm. The show promises to maintain it’s tradition of providing great entertainment whilst raising much needed funds for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity which is the Army’s national charity.

This is the ninth Tattoo in the Dome and it looks like a spectacular line up featuring The Band of The Welsh Guards as well as The Band of The Mercian Regiment, which is the home regiment for this area.  Joining the Tattoo for the first time is The Band of Yorkshire Regiment who have a varied music display.

The Waterloo Pipes and Drums are returning to provide the stir of the bagpipes and also feature a Scottish Dancing Display.

The Tattoo likes to encourage youngsters as well so are pleased to announce that 162 (Stockport) Squadron RAF Air Cadets Band will be performing and that Stockport Sea Cadets will be presenting a musical display as well.

The show builds up to a spectacular massed bands finale including the emotive Sunset ceremony and also Lone Piper.

Chris Thornton, Buxton Military Tattoo’s Event Manager, says “Our ninth year has come round so quickly and I am sure that we will again have a fabulous Tattoo showcasing the marvellous military bands that the UK can be so proud of.  I am delighted that we have also managed to contribute over £82,000 to the army’s national charity.”

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is the Army’s national charity and gives a lifetime of support to soldiers and veterans from the British Army, and their immediate families, when they are in need.

The charity makes grants to individuals through their Regiments and Corps and supports a wide range of specialist charities that sustain the British Army ‘family’,
both at home and around the world.

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity takes pride in being responsive, making a difference at a critical point in peoples’ lives.
They have been doing this since 1944, working with veterans of every conflict, and envisage continuing doing so for the ‘long haul’ – supporting all future generations of our soldiers and their dependants.
