Buxton Fringe has confirmed a new Springboard event!

Buxton Fringe has confirmed its entertainment line-up for Springboard, a brand new event at The Green Man Gallery designed to mark the changing season and promote the Fringe’s forthcoming festival in July.

Singing group Four Tell, folk artist Chris Milner - Journeyman and hilarious Beat poets The Glummer Twins will be offering extracts from their Fringe shows at the open-to-all party which takes place at Buxton’s Green Man Gallery on Saturday March 19th from 7 to 9pm.

Food and drink will be provided and there will be plenty of opportunity for performers, audience members, Fringe Friends, supporters and volunteers to mingle and chat.

After a difficult two years, the Fringe is looking forward to a more normal festival this July. In the meantime, the Fringe sees Springboard as a way of bringing people back together in a joyful celebration of spring and the revival of live performance.

In a nod to last year’s floral orange ‘hotspots’ around the town, the Green Man stage will be decorated with orange flowers and the performers have been invited to incorporate the theme of spring into their acts.

As a charity run entirely by volunteers, the Fringe is always looking for help and hopes that new people may want to get involved or become Fringe Friends.

Says Fringe chair, Stephen Walker: “As we emerge from Covid restrictions we're delighted to be running our first event of the year and providing a Springboard for the Fringe to come. It's a great opportunity to see some Fringe favourites, catch up with our plans for the year and find out more about the Fringe.”
