Bla Bla Bla play Buxton on Saturday 6 May 7.30pm

Returning for another night of live music from some of the area’s top local bands is Bla Bla Bla. Buxton Local Artists’ new line-up features everything from rock and blues to a cappella and folk.

Topping the bill during this concert is Route 66 – probably the most enduring band Buxton has ever produced. Formed in 1989, they have played over 1,000 gigs up and down the country, keeping British RnB well and truly alive.

Genial sprites Culpepper, play exactly the kind of intriguing and passionate songs that you might expect from disenchanted former telecommunications workers (pod people). They insist they're not 'local' but 'Buxton-based'. And Mr Cromford still refuses to possess a mobile phone.

Rhi & Em, aka Rhiannon Mogridge and Emma Shanks will deliver a wide range of covers of folk, pop and other songs in a capella style. Whilst Paul Wood & Michael Clement (two great pillars of the Buxton music scene) offer twin harmony and accompany themselves on assorted strings, with songs from past to present.

If you like blues and rock, there’s an upbeat set from the legendary Bin 53 with Dave Speak on slide guitar, Dave Jones on double bass, Tim Kearney on drums and Ric Bateman on vocals, guitar and harmonica.

Bla Bla Bla takes place at Pavilion Arts Centre on Saturday 6 May at 7.30pm. Tickets for the evening are priced at £8. To buy tickets or for more information call the Box Office on 01298 72190 or book online at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk
