Arts Derbyshire is launching a new programme of dance for people over 55

Arts Derbyshire is launching a new programme of dance for people over 55, starting in Alfreton.  Details below.  Please do pass this on to anyone you think might be interested, and advertise it in whatever way you can.  Thank you.

Come and join a new weekly dance and movement class for people 55+.

Being active means staying independent for longer, with a better quality of life. d:dance will help you to feel more confident, improve your balance and strength, and you’ll meet like-minded people over a cuppa too.  Our fun and accessible class is suitable for anyone aged 55 and over, at whatever stage of fitness or mobility. You don’t need any dance experience – just come along and enjoy the music!

  • Alfreton Community Hall, 9 Mansfield Rd, Alfreton DE55 7JJ
  • Thursdays from 6/2/20 (Derbyshire school term time only, so no class on 20th Feb as its half term.)
  • 10am
  • £3.50 per week

What to wear: comfortable loose fitting clothes and sensible footwear (like your normal flat shoes or trainers).

How to get here: the venue has convenient parking options and is near to bus stops.

Accessibility People with more limited mobility or who have had a fall are very welcome – the professional dance leader has training in falls prevention techniques, which will be covered through dance in the class, and is also a registered dance and movement therapist. The venue is fully wheelchair/mobility scooter accessible.

Contact Frances Watt to find out more or if you would like a leaflet or poster mailed out to you.
