Artists gather for Heart for Hathersage fundraiser

Seventeen painters and photographers have already signed up for a fundraising art exhibition in Hathersage in June.

Work from painters John Hardwick, Lyn Littlewood, Lizzie Shuttleworth, Philip Key, Shirley Longstaff, Martin Decent, Wendy Butler, Ingrid Karlsson-Kemp and Jill Ray will join photography by Simon Bull, Stuart Roy Clarke, Ian Fretwell and Tony Marshall for the event at Hathersage Memorial Hall on Saturday June 6 from 9am until 5pm.

Four members of the Hathersage Contemporary Art Group will also show and auction off their work on the day to raise funds for the Heart For Hathersage initiative, which aims to create a multi-functional vibrant open space in the centre of the village.

Local artists from Derbyshire and Sheffield can still sign up to offer their paintings, installations and ceramics for exhibition and then auction.

The Heart for Hathersage project, which has already been granted planning permission, aims to create a focal point in Hathersage with new public facilities and bus shelter, local displays and attractive public realm with seating.
