Artist Opportunity
Summary:

Arts Development are looking for a music artist to deliver a 3-day residential in an Erewash school with KS2 children, to help create a Song for Erewash. The song will be developed jointly in school and performed at Ilkeston’s historical Charter Fair the 18th October 2021.

Schools are to submit a collection of thoughts and words that will help complete the song prior to the residential starting.

Song for Erewash theme – ‘Identity’

The Charter Fair is a big deal to Erewash people, steeped in history. We will ask the selected school to work with children in advance, asking what it means to them! They will discuss and demonstrate how important community and heritage is and this will form a song they can proudly perform at this years opening ceremony.

The residential will happen the first two weeks of October. Successful applicant must be available and have capacity to engage with school to discuss logistics during September.

The Council particularly welcomes applications from artists in the local area.
