WHAT'S ON?

“An interactive installation inspired by the issues surrounding digital preservation and obsolescence that encourages the participant to manage and control a digital form in 3D virtual space. Mimicking our day-to-day interaction with computers and technology, in which we live an ever increasing part of our lives, how are we as the creators of this data affecting it’s long term dependability?”

In Quantum Space, the human form disintegrates on screen into fragments of light. The installation creates immersive and responsive explosions of colour on approach, leaving behind trails of movement in a space filled with abstract visualisations.

As part of NUDE, on 20 August, LEVEL is launching a new series of online life drawing sessions lead by artist Georgia Peskett. This life-drawing crash course will cover the basics of capturing the human form on paper, and is great preparation for anyone wishing to join or revisit our NUDE Life Drawing and Performance projects which will be returning later this year.

All sessions are FREE – we want everyone to be able to access the activities we offer, and we actively encourage people with a learning disability to take part in our sessions.

You can sign up for the full course, or pick and choose which sessions you would like to attend. We are also offering Accessibility Consultations for those who wish to discuss their needs before the sessions, you can find these and booking information via the link below.

INTERVIEW WITH GEORGIA PESKETT

Some of you may know Georgia already as our Visual Arts tutor, but she is also a prolific artist with a fascinating career. Marianne, our Marketing Officer, was lucky enough to sit down with Georgia (via Zoom) a few weeks ago and ask her all about her life as an artist and how she came to be working with LEVEL
