Airfield unlocked by D2N2

Bondholder D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership has agreed to provide £1 million to create a new link road to unlock the development of Ashbourne Airfield.

The £10.7m scheme, next to the Airfield Industrial Estate, would see the creation of the nine-acre Ashbourne Business Park, a new housing development and a new roundabout and link road.

Elizabeth Fagan, Chairman of D2N2, said: "Ashbourne is the heart of Derbyshire Dales manufacturing economy and this critical investment in infrastructure will facilitate new jobs and opportunities for local people and businesses which will contribute towards the growth of the regional economy."
