The Midland Railway - Butterley is a heritage railway that is celebrating the Midland Railway which was based in Derby.
Many of the items here were built or designed in Derby. This includes Stations, signal boxes, locomotives, carriages, wagons and much more.
Our collection includes one of the last steam locomotives built in Derby, one of the last diesel locomotives built in Derby and one locomotive that was built in Chesterfield, worked at Staveley, and is preserved here having never left Derbyshire.
