Matlock Bath Illuminations in Derbyshire feature a unique parade of illuminated and decorated boats on the River Derwent every weekend from 12th September to 31st October. Each boat carries a decorated model and as darkness falls the boats disappear into the blackness below, leaving the models apparently gliding along just above the water. Every Saturday (except 12th September) there are also spectacular firework displays at 9.00pm.
