Derwent Brass - a popular entertaining musical ensemble, equally at home in all venues from private functions to large concert halls. The band regularly perform to capacity audiences in both the local Derby Assembly Rooms and Derby Cathedral and have represented the East Midlands further afield in the UK and abroad.

Hugely popular, the group are always in demand and pride themselves on regular repeat appearances when organisers and audiences have been delighted with the first performance. The band will perform in conventional style with classical and traditional material, or can tailor a concert with items such as big screen blockbuster movie themes, choreographed stage sets, and are so versatile they will transform into a swing big-band at the drop of a hat. Never one to fully keep within the mould, Derwent Brass have also recently started crossing further boundaries, introducing some innovative and contemporary music to their library, working alongside some of the very best award winning brass composers, to lead the way in brass band music and entertainment.

For more bespoke 'special' events, Derwent Brass hold a comprehensive history of delighted customers who may opt for the smaller 10pc ensemble to perform at birthday celebrations, weddings and the like, or the full band for fund raising concerts, Last Night of the Proms and other large events.

As a not-for-profit organisation, this unique ensemble also offers support and enjoyment to the local community largely through the promotion of brass music, not only in the form of their varied performance repertoire, but through workshops, tuition and more.

Derwent Brass have brought the brass band into the 21st century with wide ranging repertoire, slick presentation, talented soloists and featured performers, and have truly earned themselves the title of Derbyshire's Premier Brass Band.
