MEMBER: Creswell Crags

Creswell Crags is a limestone gorge honeycombed with atmospheric caves. Stone tools and remains of animals found in the caves provide evidence for a fascinating story of life during the last Ice Age between 50,000 and 10,000 years ago. Further evidence came to light in 2003 with the discovery of Britain’s only known Ice Age rock art.

Visitors can take their choice of two cave tours (weekends and school holidays) to explore the caves and view the rock art. The state-of-the-art visitor centre houses permenant and temporary exhibitions along with a coffee shop with stunning panoramic views.

Entry to the site is free. There is a £3 donation for all day parking. Please see the website (www.creswell-crags.org.uk) for exhibition and tour prices, along with a full programme of special events.
