Melbourne Operatic Society is in action once again at the Duchess Theatre in Long Eaton with Gilbert and Sullivan's Patience.

Twenty love-sick maidens, all rivals but who are united in their rivalry, only have eyes for the aesthetic poet Reginald Bunthorne, which infuriates the 35th Dragoon Guards having been engaged to the maidens the previous year. Bunthorne cares not for the attentions of these maidens but is quite taken by the 'earthy' Patience, a dairy-maid who has never experienced true love; that is until she meets a certain Archibald Grosvenor.

Gilbert's sharp wit at satirising the military, the aesthetic movement, and the gullible public chasing every new craze is at it's sparkling best.
