This is a great Specialist Class open to all, from complete beginner through to more advanced abilities. No previous experience of working with polymer clay is needed.

Come along to learn how to make your own stones from polymer clay. This is a one day workshop which will show you how to make your own unique cabochon type stones for setting in to jewellery. The day will start with a quick look at the basics of working with the clay. Then a couple of techniques for making unusual surface patterns will be explored. These techniques can also be easily adapted, on the day to make in to beads. Ideal for those of you who are not experienced at silver jewellery making.

What is polymer clay?
Polymer clay is a wonderful material to use. Often called by its brand names of Fimo & Sculpey. It is a specialist modelling clay that is fired in a domestic oven. Our course is aimed at total beginners and will show you how to get started.

What will we do on the day?
We will go through the basics of using polymer clay including how to get the clay ready for use, mixing colours, texturing and more. You will learn how to make specialised surface patterns and how to form the clay. We will make several stones (or beads if you are not an experienced silver jewellery maker) during the course to take home. The clay will be fired during the class in our oven. Information will be given about firing your clay at home during the course.

Using polymer clay is great fun. The possibilities are endless with this fantastic colourful material. This class is ideal for anyone who loves stone setting or unusual beaded jewellery. It is also a great introduction to the fantastic versatility of polymer clay.
