The Lumsdale Valley, on the edge of Matlock, is one of the best water-powered industrial archaeological sites in Great Britain. The land is owned by the Arkwright Society and managed by a committee of local people.
Join us for a leisurely guided one mile walk down through this wooded gorge of outstanding natural beauty, exploring the stone mill ruins, ponds and waterfalls that make up this scheduled ancient monument.
Booking is not essential. Meet at 2pm in the lay-by opposite Highfields School, Lumsdale. Wear suitable stout footwear.
