Introduction to Making Organic Skincare Products

Workshop
This is an introductory workshop, which will provide an opportunity for you to develop and make your own organic skincare products, under the guidance of our experienced tutor. We will explore common themes in skincare ‘problems’ and look at different products to see how they can help to address these issues.

You will have the opportunity to explore different organic ingredients, learning about their particular characteristics, and choose from a range of products to make and take home.

Please note that we may use organic beeswax when we are making our products, so if you are vegan and would prefer not to use beeswax, please let us know, as we have alternatives we can use in our balms instead.

At the end of the day, you will have learned:
• Some common causes of skincare issues;
• How ingredients and products may alleviate some of the issues;
• How to use some of these ingredients to develop and make skincare products;
• The importance of safe development, manufacture and use of skincare products, and some important legal information.

You will also receive:
• A certificate of attendance;
• Your own hand-made skincare products, in 3 varieties.
• A complimentary Purely Skincare apron.

Key Points:
• Informative and fun sessions
• Small group size – a maximum of 10 participants in a session
• Learn new skills and build on existing knowledge
• Take home your own hand-made products
• Receive a certificate of attendance
• Eligible for CPD points – check your Professional Membership criteria

This workshop is open to everyone. No previous knowledge is required.

However, if you hold a qualification in beauty or holistic therapy, you can receive 5 CPD points with the FHT for attending the workshop, and you can gain a further 5 points by using the experience to write a reflective piece of work relating to your practice or a case study. Please check with your own professional body to check how many CPD points you will be eligible for.
