Learn the basics of letterpress in a fun-filled afternoon at Smallprint HQ!
The session is ideal for beginners and those thinking of running their own Adana.
On the Day
Chris will teach a small group the basics of traditional letterpress printing. After some basic prep in general principles and typography (if you’re unfamiliar), you’ll learn how to hand-set type on a composing stick, transfer it to a chase and lock it up for printing. From there you’ll learn how to ink up, operate and clean an Adana 8x5 tabletop press, the most popular of ‘starter’ presses.
Projects include creating a small print, some coasters, greetings cards or postcards and you get to take home a bundle of letterpress printed goodies to show your friends and family (there may be a small extra charge for materials, if you want to print a longer run).
