This feature-length painted animation — the first film of its kind — explores the life and unusual death of Vincent Van Gogh via depictions of his artworks.It’s an animated imagining of the last months of Vincent’s life, and specifically (but inconclusively) investigating the theory that he did not shoot himself but was shot as a bizarre prank. Each frame was painted in oils by thousands of artists from around the world, in the style of Vincent, based on the live-action version created by the director and cast. Directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman. Starring Aidan Turner, Saoirse Ronan, Eleanor Tomlinson and Jerome Flynne.
